Welcome to 2ecure

You have received an invitation. With your personal invitation code you can create your account in a few minutes.

What you need

• your invitation code – it is personal, can be used only once and expires after a while
• an email address you can access right now
• a strong password, ideally from a password manager
• about ten minutes

Complete the registration within one hour. After that it expires and you have to start again.

Create your account

1. Open the 2ecure app on your phone, or chat.2ecure.com in your browser. Until the apps are in the stores, use the browser.
2. Tap “Sign in”. The 2ecure sign-in page (account.2ecure.com) opens.
3. Choose “Create account”.
4. Fill in the form: username, email address and password. Accept the terms of use.
5. Enter your invitation code (registration token).
6. Enter the confirmation code we send you by email.

Your username becomes part of your 2ecure address, for example @anna:2ecure.com. It cannot be changed later.

Next: secure your keys

After signing in, the app asks you about key storage. Keep “Allow key storage” turned on and save your recovery key in a password manager. This is the only way to read your encrypted messages on a new device later. More about key storage

Something went wrong?

• No email arrived: Check your spam folder and wait a few minutes.
• Invitation code not valid: The code may already have been used or may have expired. Ask for a new invitation.
• No “Create account” option: Check that you are on the 2ecure sign-in page (account.2ecure.com).
